L'idée
La communication écrite au clavier - encore plus si elle est instantanée
- se situe entre l'échange épistolaire et le dialogue. Ce
nouveau langage génère ses propres mots et codes graphiques.
Petit à petit, on reconnaît tel signe traduisant tel sentiment.
En effet, comment différencier l'indifférence de l'intérêt,
l'émotion de l'absence d'émotion, quand chaque mot possède
le même aspect et que les phrases peuvent avoir un double sens ? Le
graphisme d'un texte est toujours égal. Et on ne peut pas s'aider
du regard, du mouvement des mains, de l'intonation de la voix. Il faut donc
trouver autre chose.

The
concept
Keyboard-written communication – all the more so when it is in the
form of instant messages – lies between correspondence and dialogue.
This new language generates its own words and graphic codes. Little by little,
one sign becomes associated with a particular feeling. In fact, how is it
possible to differentiate between indifference and interest, between emotions
and the absence of emotions when each word looks the same? Besides, sentences
may have double meanings and the graphic appearance of a text is always
even. One cannot use eye contact, body language or the intonation of the
voice to understanding the meaning. Other ways have to be found.
